    Description

My father served as a signal officer in Newfoundland in 1942-43 and I found this map in his stuff.  He has made some notations on it of some places of military significance including forts, air bases and radar stations.  I've also attached a couple of photos I found in his stuff.  One is of some of his signal guys at the end ofd a 7 mile hike ( they do look beat), another of  their championship football team.  He was the only officer who would play with them, and right after this was taken, he had his collarbone broken playing ball.  It did not heal properly for the rest of his life, 99+ years.
The map is 38x36" and in pretty good shape.  The map was created in 1940 and this one printed by the Army War College in 1941.  One of the corners has been bent, but it is all there.
