    Description

EVERYTHING. I recently acquired a collection of WWII pieces from his estate, along with a good amount of political, civil defense, cold war, and states' rights material.
Impressive vintage August 7, 1945 newsletter from the USS Kenneth Whiting, the day after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. It includes five articles on the atom bomb as well as action reports and more. The ship was stationed at Okinawa at the time. From the estate of a WW2 navy seaplane pilot and Air Combat Intelligence officer. 4 pages, 12" x 8", stapled at top left corner.
As provenance, also included is an original October, 1945 memo written by the officer. It is a schedule of flights from occupied Japan, on Fleet Air Wing Seventeen letterhead.
The newsletter is in good condition. Tanned (the first picture is closer to the actual color than the following photos). There is a tear on the left margin of both pages and edge wear.
An important piece of atomic age history and a superb addition to any collection. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed for protection. Please see my store for more museum grade historical artifacts. I always combine shipping.
