Vintage Copper/Steel "Andersen" Window Lock & Keeper
    * Although there are 2 available, the list price is for 1 set (1 lock & 1  keeper).
Charming, Art Deco style, window lock and keeper made  by, "Andersen," of Bayport, MN. The locks and keepers are made of steel.
Originally, all parts were copper-plated and surprisingly, the parts  retained the majority of their plating.
Antique window locks require you to turn their lever both  clockwise and counter clockwise to lock and unlock the window. Andersen  added a spring to their design to facilitate the unlocking process. Instead  of having to grab the lever and turn it clockwise to unlock the window, just  a simple push will trigger the spring inside the lock to turn the lever back  and unlock the window automatically. I don't think that it's such a  difficult process to turn the lever clockwise to unlock; I think that  Andersen was just trying to be innovative to get an edge on their  competition.
At the point of salvage they were found dirty and tarnished. Since then, we cleaned and polished each part, allowing the true beauty of  the copper to show forth.
All of the locks and keepers are in great shape with no breaks, bends,  cracks, gouges, or dents. The turn-levers swivel easily, and smoothly.
