Description
Imagine what you can do with these antique window weights! Gadgets, steampunk, shabb chic, or eclectic. These are original window counterweights from a home built in 1891. They are cast iron, weighing approximately 7-1/2 pounds each and measuring approximately 18-19 inches long. Some still show an "8" presumably indicating the original weight. The whitish finish comes from being treated with a phosphoric acid wash (OSPHO) to remove and retard rust. I don't know how long this lasts, but it's a good idea if you plan to paint them. The others shown in the last picture (see our other listings) have been gently surface cleaned and are otherwise untreated so you can see the difference. Items pictures are representative of the item you will receive, but not the exact item. Some have more or less rust, aging and deterioration as is the nature of reclaimed and antique items, especially architectural salvage. If you have a question, please ask before purchase. If you have a concern please contact us before leaving feedback. I hope our transaction will be pleasant for all. We donate a portion of the proceeds to charity, just not through ebay.
