    Description

This little 4 1/4 by 6 inch booklet has 31 pages. It's titled Combat History of the 79th Inf, Div. East of the Rhine, April 20, 1945. On the back of the title page, Sgt. Sam B, Lyons, Div. Ha. G-2, Public Relations states that this booklet is "a jerry-built job in more ways than one: It was printed on German Presses, with German ink on German paper, deep in the heart of Germany's Ruhr. It is printed in this particular style at this particular time because demand for combat history publications after the first of the year has far exceeded supply." It states that it's a reprint with none of the maps, pictures or color of the earlier version. The paper is poor quality and toned, with stains on the back cover. It's creased vertically and likely spent time in someone's pocket. It details the history of the Divisions participation in D-day and beyond. The war ended on May 8, 1954 - not long after this April 20 date.
