OLD House Shutter Latch vintage rustic cast iron 8 7/8” slide bolt vintage STOCK
This latch has a great vintage rustic look.
These latches are dated
to the
1860’s.
It has some light rust on it.
It was made
from cast iron.
It would look great on a garden shed, a rustic jelly cupboard, a cabinet and all sorts of furniture.
Also it would be great for barn or house shutters for a rustic historic look on a door.
The latch is 8 7/8
”
long and 2 1/2" wide.
This latch has a locking lever to keep the slide bolt from moving back and forth.
This shutter slide bolt would give a historic look to your home.
This gem of a latch looks unused or lightly used if at all.
It was washed with water to remove the dirt.
There is a hole in the lower corner of the keeper. There is enough play to hook into the hole in the old days and prop the shutter partway open to let in air and keep birds out of the house and also prevents the shutter from swinging open and banging shut when it is hooked.
