    Description

    This is just one of a set of window shutters. Found in shed of an antebellum home in the Port Hudson, Louisiana area. Seller does not know the age of the shutters. They have some damage read below, one panel the slats will come loose (should be fixable). Would suit a handy man or woman buyer, someone who
    could repair any damage.
    Width of the two panels is 16" and height is 36 inches. The narrower panel is 7 3/8" wide and the wider one is 8 6/8"  wide. The panels are attached by two hinges, which allows the smaller panel to fold back on the larger one. Attached to the larger panel by two hinges is 4/8 x 1 4/8 strip of wood with 4  2" protruding nails. On the smaller panel there is a small white handle, which seller not sure is made of porcelain or a hard plastic, when tapped with a knife a tinny sound is heard.
    Several areas of damage:  bottom slat of the narrow panel the metal attachment to the upright has broken so it does not move up and down, the wider panel the slats do not completely close or completely close, they move about half the way. One of the end joints on the
    wider panel will come loose and when it does many of the slats will also come loose, they can be put back in place, seller has done this several times but it is time consuming and takes many tries. Some glue should fixed this problem. The wooden upright that moves the slats up and down on the wider panel has difficulty moving side to side, but will when gently moved at one end. The Metal attachments between the slats and uprights are all rusted.
    Wear and marks on the wood. A little dusty.  Rust on the metal areas. 4 protruding 2" nails. Weight is 5.2lb. See photographs for condition. Will ship with narrow panel folded on to the larger panel.
