    Description

An original 1945 set of five maps of Japanese cities issued to a US Navy Air Combat Intelligence officer for use in planning the invasion of Japan.
Each map is marked Restricted and appears to be a copy of an atlas page overlaid with added military target information for the US troops. All the maps are stapled together. The maps are:
    - Nagasaki. About 7" x 8". Very good condition.
    - Nagoya. About 13" x 13". Good condition with a tear on left side as shown.
    - Osaka. About 12" x 15". Very good condition. One corner folded.
    - Kyoto. About 11" x 13". Very good condition.
    - Kobe. About 17" x 12". Very good condition.
The maps display really well. Nagasaki is an interesting one as it shows the parallel silo planning for the invasion and the atomic bombing.
An original naval order with the officer's name is included for your provenance.
