Original WWII “Lucky Bastards Club” Certificate 493rd Bomb Group Lot Photos Etc. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Pretty cool group I purchased from the daughter of a turret gunner with the 493rd bomb group. It includes his “lucky bastard club” certificate which the 8th Air Force awarded to bombers who completed 30 missions over Europe and signed by all of his unit. Also some great photos (some originals other older photocopies) of the unit and from his missions. an understated addition to the group is a small book that the gunner kept a log of every mission he went on, date and target then what happened and even how he was feeling, it’s pretty crazy to read him about how they counted forty holes on the plane after they got back to England, or how his crewman was shot in the head, or watching other bombers going down, with no chutes observed…
