Vintage Tourist Plate Nico Japan 1950s Souvenir New Mexico Carlsbad Caverns

Description

NICO tourist souvenir plate made in Japan for sales in the United States.  Japanese artists, and manufacturers following the war, were employed by many of the new Japanese / American companies developed / guided by Douglas MacArthur and W. Edwards Deming's program to re-build the Japanese economy following WWII.
This is an example of that.  This plate promotes White's City, NM with it's famous Caverns.
Has drilled holes on back for hanging, but can be used as a little spoon rest, etc. Gilt is good on inside rim but sparse on outside rim.  No chips, nor cracks.  Colors good and true to the desert area it depicts.  Some light fading of wording on plate.
Measures 5" diameter.
