    Belonged to Irvin Edward Gilman, Musician 2/C, Flag Band, Cruiser Division 6. As soon as he graduated high school he joined the Navy in 1943 at age 18. He went on to serve as a musician (saxophone) aboard the USS Witchita & San Francisco.
