    Description

    Auction for lot 3 double-sided vintage WW2 AAF Cloth Escape Maps of the Philippine Series & Borneo dated 1944. Used by both AAF and USN for escape and evasion purposes. Maps are made of Acetate Rayon manufactured by Dupont. The color graphics were transferred by the game board industry. Scale is 1:1000000. They show towns, cities, villages, lakes, elevations, longitude/latitude degrees, currents and other important factors that could be used in escape and evasion. They were easy to conceal and held up well under extreme conditions. Maps are in excellent condition in stored condition with fold lines, normal aging associated with age. There is fraying around the edges. No marks or stains noted. Colors are bright.

    3. AAF doubled-sided cloth escape map, C45 East Borneo C-46 West Borneo dated 1944. Cloth map is approximately 36" x 25 1/2" in size.
